Business operations in several competing companies may differ from one another significantly in terms of different processes established in those companies and nature of employees’ work. It is the specificity of processes that requires a flexible software solution.

It is important for the document management system to be completely open in terms of the electronic implementation of processes. This means that every process involving the documents can be performed electronically, regardless of the specificity or complexity of the process and the branch the company is in.

It is typical of specific electronic processes that documents enter the process on various levels of reviewing, approving, authorizing. Processes may be mutually connected or intertwined, yet at the same time several companies and their departments can be involved (e.g. the relationship between the supplier and the buyer).

Examples of specific processes are project folders (credit, leasing etc.), monitoring the activities of a business deal, helpdesk, authorizations, etc.
